Gondia: A bribe of 1500 rupees was taken by the bureaucratic bribe from a liquor vendor. This was done on Tuesday (12th) in Gangajari, Taluk. Devendra Shival Chopkar Nayak Police Camp, BN 1355 is the accused and he is working at the police station Gangajari.
The complainant does business with the sale of alcohol. For that, he was giving monthly installment of Rs 1500 to the BIT Employers. In the meanwhile, due to the lack of business of liquor sales, he was giving monthly installment of BDT 1500 instead of Rs.1000 per month. In January 2019, he had stopped the sale of liquor since the sale of illegal liquor by the Excise Department against him. But after this, Bit-Employer Devendra Chopkar demanded a monthly installment of Rs 1500 for non-payment of illegal liquor sales to the complainant.
Since the complainant does not wish to pay the money, he lodged a complaint against Devendra Chopkar on February 12 in the Bachhachhat Preventional Zone Gondia. On February 12, action was taken by verifying bribe demand.
The accused arrested Devendra Shivlal Chopkar (32) while taking a bribe of 1500 monthly installments. An offense has been registered against him in Gangajari police station under the Anti-Corruption Prevention (Amendment) Act 2018. Police Superintendent Ramkant Kokate, Police Havildar Pradeep Tulskar, Rajesh Shendre, Ranjit Bisen, Digambar Jadhav, Nitin Rahanddale, Rajendra Bisen, Women Niece Police Camp, Vandana Bisen, Geeta Khobragade and Driver, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police, Shrikant Dhivere, Additional Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Dudhwarwar.
