Gondia: In the Bhandara-Gondia Lok Sabha constituency, 33 candidates, including NCP’s Nana Panchbundhe, BJP-Shiv Sena alliance Sunil Bhandhe, BSP’s Vijayya Nandurkar and others have filed their nominations. NCP and BJP demonstrated power by taking out a rally. BJP State Vice-President Rajendra Patle and former BJP MP Khushal Bopche have raised many eyebrows by filing nominations. During the Namakan process, police had tightened the entire city.
NCP held a meeting in the Jalaram Hall in the morning at 11 am under the guidance of MP Praful Patel. On this occasion, MP Madhukar Kukat, MLA Gopaldas Agarwal, MLA Prakash Gajbhia, former State Minister Vilas Shringarpawar, former MLA Rajendra Jain, Dilip Bansod, Anandrao Wanjari, Anil Bavankar, Ramratan Raut, Vijay Shivankar, Sunil Phunde, Dhananjay Dalal, ZP Chairman Ramesh Dongre, Gondiya ZP A large number of activists were present along with President Bada Madavi, Jia Patel, Naresh Maheshwari, Premasagar Ganavir, Ramlal Chaudhary, Purushottam Katre, Pancham Bisen, Boundary Bhure, Vishal Sahara, Kalyani Bhure. Thousands of office bearers and activists from Bhandara and Gondia districts were present.
After this, a rally was organized from Jalaram Chowk to Trimurti Chowk. Balbadi and Loknatya became the focus of the rally in the rally. In other places along with the main streets of the city, the police was well-equipped. Around 1.45 pm, the procession was given to Trinitarian Chowk and a strong announcement was made under the leadership of Patel Patel.
At around 2 pm, Nana Panchbudhe entered the Collector’s office to file an nomination papers. At that time, MP Praful Patel, Madhukar Kukate, former MLA Adv. Anandrao Wanjari, Jia Patel and other dignitaries were present. District and District Electoral Officer Shantanu Goyal filed nomination papers.
BJP-Shiv Sena alliance candidate Sunil Mhedhe filed a rally with the support of thousands of supporters at 2 pm. Earlier, a meeting was held in Sugarkar Hall of Shastri Nagar Chowk.
The meeting was attended by Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Social Justice Minister Rajkumar Badole, MLA Dr. Consequently, MLA Adv. Ramchandra Avasare, MLA Charan Waghmare, MLA Girish Vyas, MLA Ramdas Ambedkar, former MP Shishu Patel Patley, Dr. Opender Kukkar, Arvind Shahpurkar, MHADA Chairman Tariq Qureshi, former MLA Narendra Bhondekar, Ramesh Kutha, Gondiya BJP District President Hemant Patle, Bhandara District President Pradeep Padole, District President of RPI, Asit Bagde etc. were present on the occasion. In the presence of Guardian Minister Bawankule and Mr. Parikshit Phukke, Municipal Chief Sunil Mhedhe filed nomination for District Collector and District Electoral Officer Shantanu Goyal.
Considering the crowd due to the last day of filing of nominations, the city was surrounded with a great security arrangement. Every procession coming to the Trimurti chowk in front of the District Collectorate was stopped. In this area, barricats were imposed with heavy police control. Police also maintained proper security in the area of Gandhi Chowk and Muslim Library Chowk in the city. On the route of the rally, police had been deployed everywhere. The Central Reserve Police Force was also deployed in the city. In order to file nominations, the functions of each party in both the districts had come. Local Inspector Ravindra Mankar, city’s Thane sadar Sudhakar Chavan, and Kardhana’s Gajanan Kankale had arranged the settlement under the guidance of District Superintendent of Police Arvind Salve, Additional Superintendent of Police Rashmi Nandedkar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rina Janabandhu.
Independent rebels dominated
In the Lok Sabha elections, the role of the rebels will also be important. Former BJP MP Khushal Bopche on Monday filed his nomination as an Independent. This has started to subside. Besides, BJP’s state vice president and founder of Kisan Garjan, Rajendra Patle also filed nomination papers at 12 noon on Monday. Today, a major picture of the rebel in the BJP is happening. None of the two candidates has given AB form for the party. In particular, we did not forget to talk to media representatives that we have filed an nomination form to contest the election but not to withdraw the candidature.
Traffic jam on the National Highway
Since the Collector Office was on the National Highway and there was a large crowd of people, including vehicles, to file nominations. Traffic movement was also visible in the city as the vehicles were stationary. So, the traffic congestion on the National Highway took place from 1 pm to 4 pm. It seems that the long ramp of vehicles was found in the city. There was a queue of vehicles on the Sakoli road to Gadegaon. There was a long queue on the Nagpur road. This led to the big haul of vehicle holders. Attempts were made to ease the transport system. But the traffic was not smooth till 4 pm.
