Gondia Today News Network

Gondia: The water reservoir in Dangorli, which supplies water to the city, has only a storage capacity of 7 days. Therefore, residents of the city will have to face severe water scarcity problem. In order to overcome the problem of water scarcity, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Department has decided to bring the dam water to the priest. However, due to the canal, the water is being planned to bring water, there is a possibility of a major problem being created due to which there is no correction.

Water is supplied to the city under the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Section. A water supply scheme has been prepared in the river Vainganga in Dangorli. Under this scheme, water supply to the city residents is twice as many as 186 liters per day. For the past three or four years, people of the city have to face water scarcity problem. To overcome this, the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Department tried to increase the water level of the cistern by constructing a cement bund in the Wainganga river basin. But it has not been of much use. In order to overcome the problem of water scarcity in the previous year, the water was supplied through the canal water from the dam to the water supply scheme in Dangorli, within 90 kms from Gondia. The same time this time, the water level of the water supply scheme has decreased due to the drying of Wainganga river in the first week of April. Therefore, the residents of the city are likely to get regular water supply for 7 days and it will be time to wander for water. For this, the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran and Irrigation department and the district administration have been working to take measures to bring water from the dam to the priest.
However, water will be brought through the canal. It has not been repaired yet.

Therefore, it is being questioned whether the dam will reach the damaged water supply in Dangorli.

The last year was truncated canal

The irrigation department’s canal was used in the last year to reach water supply scheme in Dangorli from PujariTola dam. This year the same experiment will be implemented. However, due to canal discharge after leaving water near Kamatha and Amgaon last year, due to the canal water, large amount of water was wasted. So, this canal has not been repaired even now and it is being prepared to release water. So again the problems arise
The possibility can not be ruled out.

Dam and canal survey today

Water will be brought from the dam to the water scarcity of the city. The Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Department and the irrigation department officials will inspect the project and canal on Monday (Day 15) to the priest.

Problems even after billions of rupees

A water supply scheme was developed at Dangorli after spending 100 crores four years ago to overcome the problem of water scarcity in the city. However, for the last three years, city dwellers have to face water scarcity problem, except in the initial year. So the plan of billions of rupees is only nominal.
