Gondia: Rural water supply department of Zilla Parishad has reviewed the scarcity of drinking water. In the second phase, 143 and third phase saw 398 villages and 153 water scarcity. The Zilla Parishad’s measures are only for paper to supply water to these 694 villages. So, for the water, 694 citizens of the villages are bursting tahaha.
In the first phase of water scarcity, no one village had water scarcity. The second phase was from January to March. In this second phase 143 villages found drinking water shortage. For Zilla Parishad, 272 steps have been taken. 71 lakh 16 thousand rupees were also sanctioned for this. But none of them was spent on measures. Even after the second period has passed, the work of giving relief to people is not started even if the time has passed.
In the month of March, the approval for the second phase plan for the break up of the failure of the district administration has been approved. Therefore, the process of the second phase was not initiated. Of the 143 Gram Panchayats, only 15 Gram Panchayat budget has come from the Zilla Parishad’s rural water supply department. Thus, without the scarcity of complete gram panchayat budget, there will be no nividar prakashya.
The dissected picture appears in the district, even though the phase of the third phase has not started yet. In the third phase, 398 villages and 153 wards have been planned for 1,540 acres. For this, the District Collector has sanctioned Rs. 4.93 crore. But the third phase can not be started because the second phase is not started. While there is scarcity of water in 694 villages in the district, the rural water supply department is also slow as usual. Women and children have to make footpath to get to Kosodur and thirst. Any work still not started while inevitable for implementing the Inwell Boer, Fuel Vessel and Null Plan Special Repair Program.
Just like the water tank
Due to the implementation of Jalaksh Shikar Abhiyan in the district, the water level is shown by the administration. But since this scheme is being done by the Chief Minister, the chapattis are being painted to increase water level to make them happy. While the water scarcity of water in the district, the Jalakit Shivar campaign has been done only in Karnataka. The villages have not benefited from this. Therefore, due to good rainfall in the district last year, it will be a tragedy for the pond district to see the water scarcity in 694 villages.
Returned money is also returned
The funds sanctioned to overcome water scarcity will be returned due to the mismanagement of rural water supply department. In order to overcome the water scarcity, in the year 2017-18 this year, two crore 33 lakh 49 thousand rupees were funded. But Rs. 2 crore 19 lakh 36 thousand rupees were spent. So I did not spend 14 lakh 13 thousand rupees. For the year 2018-19, the government had given Rs 62 lakhs 3 thousand to the rural water supply department to pay electricity payment to the drought-hit villages. But spent 22 lakh 36 thousand rupees and did not spend 39 lakhs 76 thousand rupees. Although the government has provided funds for the development of the district, the funds are not spent for the welfare of the people. However, no action is taken against the authorities.
