Gondia: When a patient becomes ill, he goes to the hospital for treatment. However, there is a picture of the health of the patients coming here for treatment as there is an empire of dirt in front of the entrance of the Bai Gangabai (BGW) hospital here.

The government established BGW Hospital here to provide free health care to the tribal, remote and rural poor in the district. The hospital, which was initially a three-bed, has now become three beds. Due to the women and children’s hospitals, more than 4 patients come to the district daily for treatment. Two years ago, a government medical college was started in the area of this hospital. So the importance of this hospital increased. However, due to the lack of facilities in this hospital and the increasing prevalence of maternal and infant mortality, the hospital is always in discussion.

It is the responsibility of the hospital administration to provide quality health care to visiting patients. However, when the hospital was visited, it came to the notice that the administration’s health burden had dropped.

Pile of garbage in front of the entrance

Anyone would be surprised to find such a beautiful building in Gondia, the magnificent BGW hospital. But as you approach the entrance to the hospital, the idea of the building will be inaccurate. In front of the entrance is a large pile of litter with pigs on it. The drainage of the drains is also there, as the mosquitoes are affected by the large infestation. So most of the patients coming to the hospital have no idea how safe their health will be.

Who’s responsible?

The local city council has the responsibility of cleaning. That is the responsibility of the hospital administration. However, the health of the patients has been in jeopardy as both have been neglected. People’s representatives and various organizations in the city are always ready to deal with the problems of the citizens. Some political parties do not stand a chance to take credit for a task. However, nobody takes the issue of litter and dirt in the BGW hospital area seriously.
