MUMBAI: BJP politician Pankaja Munde’s defeat in the recent assembly polls shocked many, and now her Facebook page has left people confused about her continuity in the party. The former minister for women and child development wrote on Facebook that considering the change in the current political scene and her responsibilities, she needed to decide on her political journey.
“I am going to give you eight to ten days’ time as you have asked me. I also want time to introspect a little bit these days… Will think and decide on all these and appear before you on December 12,” Munde appealed to her supporters. Political experts said she might be trying to put pressure on the party for an MLC seat and to be made the leader of the opposition in the legislative council.
Amid speculation about unhappiness in BJP over ticket distribution for assembly polls, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut claimed Pankaja and some other BJP leaders were in touch with his party.
