Gondia: In order to overcome malnutrition in tribal and naxal-affected Gondia district, the women and child welfare department has failed completely. Due to the depression of this department, 1038 children in the district are in the malnutrition category. There are 228 children in the threshold of malnutrition, 113 of these children were admitted in Integrated Child Development Center (VCDD).
In Gondia district, 1038 malnourished children are in the malnutrition category. Of these 228 children are severely malnourished (Sam) and 810 infertile females are in moderate to severe malnutrition (MAM). Integrated child development centers have been started in 54 talukas for these malnourished children.
At this center, Sam’s 14th and Mammal’s 56 children are included. 18 Children’s health has improved. This includes Sam’s 7th and 11th Mammal. This time Sam’s 128 and MAM has 80 children. To reduce malnutrition, efforts should be made at the VCD level. There is not much control over how malnourished should be.
Child Tractation Center (CTC) has been started in Arjuni-Morgaon and Tiroda talukas in the district. Nutrition Ribbet Center (NRC) is being started at Bai Gangabai Women’s Hospital. Work is being done to eradicate malnutrition through the health department and integrated child development center. But they are slow to work.
Pregnancy is neglected
When a woman is pregnant, she needs to give her a balanced diet. But people in rural areas and poor families neglecting the pregnancy woman’s diet, because of this, there is a lack of growth in the womb. As a result, malnourished children are born. Families are not given the information about how to feed the women during pregnancy. The resulting malnutrition problem is increasing.
Animals from anganwadi
Nutrition is provided by pregnant women, adolescent girls or children for the month of nutrition as an anganwadi female child welfare department. But pregnant women, adolescent girls and babies do not eat the food because there is no reason for the intake. As a result, the food is given to animals.
52 children in malnutrition crisis
Of the children admitted in Village Child Development Center, 52 children are still in malnutrition today. This includes Sam’s 7th and Mamm’s 45 children. There are 113 child development centers in the district. Sam has 122 and MAM has 80 children.
