Gondia: There was a problem of water scarcity in the last eight ten days in the colonies of railway stations and railway employees here. So the employees’ colony was supplying only one time water a day. The railway station also had water scarcity. To overcome this, the tiger irrigation project left the Friday morning (24) in the river of Tiger in the river of Pujariotola dam on the demand of railway administration. So there is no need to face water scarcity for a few days.

Water supply is provided under Gondia railway station and railway staff colony for water supply scheme in Birasoli water tank. But in the month of April, the character of the river Tiger falls completely dry. As a result there was a problem of water scarcity in the railway station and the employee’s colony. Water reservoir of the water supply department set up in the river Tiger was just as good as the water level of four days. Recognizing this problem, the engineer of the South Eastern Central Railway Water Supply Department, Mallikarjun Rao, wrote a letter to the Collector and Tiger Irrigation Project asking for release of water from the dam. Later, the Tiger Irrigation Project Department left the dam’s water to the priest on Wednesday (the 22nd). However, the water will reach the banks of the River Tiger on Sunday (25th), informed the officer of the concerned department. District administration has ordered to release only 100 Dalgham water. However, it is known that the water released is very low and will have to release the water again.

In rural areas of Deori taluka, there has been a severe water scarcity problem. To overcome this, the villagers had asked the district collector to release water for the Sarrapundh reservoir. The water was released from Sirpur reservoir. Two gates of this reservoir were opened for this purpose. Nearly 270 Dalg Meter water was released from the reservoir. Later on Friday, both the gates of the reservoir were closed.

Water will leave again if needed

Last year, due to low rainfall, many irrigation projects have only a minimum water reservoir. Therefore, only the Itiyadoh project was released for the rabbi season. In particular, the deadline for release of water from the irrigation project is 20 May. However, due to the problem of water scarcity this year, the water released from the project was released. However, if the deadline for the release of water is over, then the concerned department officials will be released.
