Gorakhdhana was started by a large number of sand mafia in Gorakhdhada to steal the sands and sell it at a higher rate. After this, theft was received by sub-divisional officer Ravindra Rathod. Then the order to auction the captured sand was given to Tahsildar Pithulwar.
Tractor businessman Dheeraj Brahmankar threatened to kidnap a journalist after news of the incident was released. In this connection, the complaint was registered by the police station at Brahmankar. However, no action was taken against the threat. The District Collectors have demanded that the matter be taken seriously and action should be taken.
Using a law designed to protect journalists, the concerned sand mafia should take harsh and punitive action against the accused, otherwise it has warned against agitation.
