Shorten your shower

Long shower can strip away essential oils your body creates to keep your skin from drying out. Take shorter, luke warm showers, avoild hot water. You can add glycerin to the water, when the weather starts to get colder.

Yes exfoliation! There is a myth that in winters you should not exfoliate your skin because it can dry out your skin. But this is not true, dry skin makes your body work overtime to create more oil. This additional oil can cause clogged pores which can lead to acne and other skin problems. Use a mild exfoliation to remove dry skin, and then apply moisturizer immediately.

In winters water intake gets less, it is very important to keep your body hydrated and your skin happy. Beyond drinking water, you should invest in a good moisturizer that protect and soothes your skin during colder months.

Protect your skin

Not just for warm summer months, sunscreen is needed through the winter to protect you from the harmful UV rays from sun.

Use a gentle cleanser

Switch to a mind cleanser, harsh cleansers can be too harsh on your skin and can remove necessary oils your skin needs to protect itself. Use a cleanser that is gentle and won’t dry out your skin.

Moisturize chapped lips

Don’t forget your lips, your lips are the only part of your skin that doesn’t have oil glands or pores. That makes them much more likely to dry out. For extremely chapped lips, apply Vaseline to your lips for 10 minutes and remove with a soft paper towel or with a cotton ball dipped in warm water. This mini hydration mask will help to soothe discomfort and break the dehydration cycle.

Invest in Humidifier

If your skin is too dry in winters, you should invest in a good humidifier. Humidifier infuse the air in your home with moisture, soothing dry skin.

Change your eating habits
In order to keep your skin healthy, you will want to eat the right nutrients. Don’t skip too much fun stuff, just be sure to include strawberries, oranges, and apples to promote healthy glowing skin.
